Join Matthew Sisk, associate professor of the practice in the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, and Katherine Walden, associate teaching professor in the Department of American Studies for the Civic Data Literacy for Libraries: A Civic Switchboard Institute project.
This project, hosted by regional partners, is for library workers who are interested in serving as intermediaries between community members and civic data and developing civic data roles for their libraries.
Attendees will discover critical dimensions of data work, including power, social justice, and responsible data practices to mitigate harms, and will help to improve civic data educational materials for a library audience.
