NYU Shanghai’s New Fellowship Explores Innovation and Self-Discovery

NYU Shanghai’s newly launched Creativity + Innovation Fellowship brings together an international cohort of students who are passionate about pursuing the intersections of design, business, and culture in Shanghai. The fellowship includes small grants to pursue independent projects during their semester at NYU Shanghai and immersive trips to some of China’s most stunning scenic destinations.

Alumni Lounge Opening

On December 21, 2025, NYU Shanghai welcomed over 50 alumni to the launch of its Alumni Lounge. Provost Bei Wu joined alumni volunteers in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.

Located beside the campus courtyard, the Alumni Lounge offers returning alumni a dedicated space to connect, relax, and engage in alumni activities, fostering ongoing ties between alumni and the University.

NYU Shanghai and NYU alumni are invited to scan the QR code at the end of the video above to learn more about the Alumni Lounge Access Policy and reserve a campus visit.

CMB Foundation Global Health Research Fellowship Program in China

The CMB Foundation (formerly known as the China Medical Board), an American philanthropic organization advancing health in Asia, is offering a range of short- and long-term fellowship opportunities for US trainees who have completed master’s level training in a health professions or health sciences field (for example, master's graduates, doctoral candidates, medical students, residents, and post docs) to spend up to 12 months at an academic institution in China to pursue mentored research on a health related topic. The fellowships will cover travel, visa and health insurance, and a living/salary stipend.

Rima Mehta ’17 has become comfortable adapting to any situation in a global context. Since graduating, her career has taken her from the food and beverage industry to the retail sector. Now based in the Bay Area working for Nordstrom, she shares how she’s paved a career path in environmental sustainability.

Alumni Voices: Shi Jiamin ’23

Growing up between two vastly different cities—Harare, Zimbabwe and Shanghai—Shi Jiamin ’23 learned to embrace complexity and value diversity and found her passion in Interactive Media Arts. After graduation, she decided to continue to learn by doing, and joined Slow Brand Studio, a start-up doing brand consulting and sustainable products run by an NYU alum.

Alumni Voices: Fei Zeping ’20

From NYU Shanghai to the cutting edge of health tech innovation in the Bay Area, the career journey of Fei Zeping '20 has revolved around using design to create real and meaningful social impact. Now she works as a product designer at Foodsmart, a leading telenutrition and foodcare solution that promotes healthier food choices and delivers long-term health outcomes.
