Walk & Ride Challenge Registration Now Open
It’s Time! The Walk & Ride Challenge is nearly here. It’s a multi-week contest challenging Bethesda-based employees to incorporate walking into their daily routine.
When: This year’s Challenge starts October 16 and runs through November 3. Registration is now open! MCDOT is using a new software application for Walk & Ride this year, so please use this new link to register: https://eps-portal-dev.powerappsportals.us/.
No Charge: That’s right, this year you can form a team of three to five people and enter for FREE. Employers can form as many teams as they want, with each team having their own name.
Who’s Eligible? Employees of any downtown Bethesda-based employer are eligible, from small businesses to big organizations. Both in-office and teleworking (remote) employees can participate.
It’s Easy: Use these instructions to register a team.
  1. First, go to the new Walk & Ride website, https://eps-portal-dev.powerappsportals.us/ and select the "Bethesda Transportation Solutions" logo if your company is located in downtown Bethesda. Register yourself as Team Captain in the new system by entering your email and a password. You enter your information in a Sign Up page and a Profile page, then you go to "Captain Registration" at the top to select "Bethesda" as your TMD and name your team.

  2. Next, recruit a team of three to five coworkers or friends (including the Captain) for the Walk & Ride Challenge. Your team will compete against others in downtown Bethesda. The Captain will go to the "My Team Roster Page" tab (at the top menu) and use the "Open Invitation Link" button to invite a Team Member. You will use the "Open Invitation Link" button to invite each Team Member.

  3. Finally, the Team Members receive an email with instructions and a link to register in the Sign Up and Profile pages. The Team Member should then see a page with the specific team name to sign up for that team. The "Team Roster" tab should show the Captain and Team Member names as everyone is added to the team.

After registration, teams will wait until October 16 to start logging their steps into the same website.
