Art Roundtable with Rep. Bacon Visits the Omaha Makerhood District
Nebraskans for the Arts had the opportunity to provide an update to Representative Don Bacon on arts-related activities in Congressional District 2.
Lyn Ziegenbein, Future Forward LLC, provided updates on the creative community developing in the Omaha Makerhood District. Andy Saladino, Omaha Creative Institute, informed the Congressman about their programs and services to help artists  become self-sustaining and more entrepreneurial. Mike Markey, Deputy Director with the Nebraska Arts Council, provided information on the District 2 projects receiving National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) funding, and there was an update on the NEA's Creative Forces project, which incorporates the arts in the healing of military service menbers and veterans.
The Roundtable concluded with a tour of the Omaha Makerhood District and visits with artists and businesses. We thank the Congressman for his interest in the arts in his District and Lyn Ziegenbein for hosting this event and tour.
