May 2024
LEAD is planning to offer the “Leadership Across Difference: Lessons from Medieval Spain” study abroad program again in May 2024. It’s not too early to start thinking about how this course can fit into your schedule.
This is the 2nd time that LEAD is offering this leadership study abroad program. Participants will learn how part of what is now Spain was ruled by an Islamic civilization called Al-Andalus. They will explore how Muslims, Christians and Jews collaborated and lived together relatively peacefully for hundreds of years and that this history is also contested. The program will help prepare students to be more effective, ethical leaders by introducing them to historical examples of conflict, cooperation and collaboration across difference in Spain. Participants will examine the history of this region with a specific focus on what we can learn about leadership & ethics across difference, that is applicable to students and life today.
