Cal Expo Announces Virtual DJ Battle and Action-Packed
Online Twitch Hangout for All

(SACRAMENTO, CA) - In an effort to bring all of the excitement and nostalgia of the CA State Fair to Californian’s homes, Cal Expo today announced two new events: A Silent Disco DJ Battle and a Twitch Channel Hangout showcasing the California State Fair favorites, competitions, music and videos.
Attendees will be able to listen to their favorite music from over the years in a one-of-a-kind online DJ Battle and have the opportunity to attend virtual tours and reminisce while watching their favorite State Fair highlights, and much more.
“The Silent Disco DJ Battle and Twitch Channel Hangout will be a unique opportunity for Californians to experience the excitement and memories of the California State Fair from the safety of their own homes,” explained Margaret Mohr, Deputy General Manager. “In what has been a very stressful year for millions of Californians, Cal Expo believes it is important to provide our communities with an exciting online event and share their favorite fair memories.”
Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, fairgoers can jump on the official CA State Fair Twitch Channel to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Fair and hear live music from DJ Tripp. There is a Twitch Hangout tonight at 5 p.m., check here for times and schedule. The Fair will showcase videos from award-winning wine, cheese, olive oil, and craft beers, and 2019 competition winners from Fine Art, Crafts, Student Showcase, Photography, and more. Additionally, CA State Fair is giving out season passes for the 2021 State Fair over the course of the week, with two winners picked every hour.
For those who miss the Silent Disco tradition at the Fair, on Sunday, July 26th, Californians of all ages will be able to attend a three-way DJ Battle between DJ Oceanwolf, DJ Selecta_Qure, and DJ Jamieselects. With DJ Oceanwolf playing classics from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, DJ Selecta_Qure playing EDM and Top 40 hits, and DJ Jamieselects playing Hip Hop, fans can use Cal Expo’s interactive website to chat with other partygoers, request their favorite songs, ask for shout-outs, and vote for their favorite DJ to determine a winner.
