• David Breslin MA ’04 is named chair of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s modern and contemporary art department after serving as director of curatorial initiatives at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
• President Joe Biden’s most recent round of appointments includes Jacqueline Burgette ’04 as a White House fellow in the Office of the National Cyber Director and Anne Joseph O’Connell ’92 as a member of the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States.
• Adam Dionne ’22 won the Leroy Apker Award honoring outstanding achievement among undergraduates in physics for his work building an understanding of nutrient dispersal and transport in the slime mold Physarum polycephalum. Dionne is the sixth Williams student since 1999 to win the Apker Award.
• NY-1 ran a TV segment on Sareena Khanal ’22, who is heading to Mongolia as a Peace Corps volunteer with the first cohort to return to overseas service after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

• “I’ve been doing gross stuff for a number of years,” says Commencement and Academic Program Coordinator Veronica Bosley of her love for special effects horror makeup. Bosley is a quarter finalist in the Face of Horror, a competition for the spookiest look with proceeds benefiting a children’s cancer organization.
• “He uses the video to remind us that … the island isn't this empty space where there are no consequences for our actions,” Professor of Latina/o Studies Maria Elena Cepeda tells KCRW about Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny's new music video “El Apagón” (“The Blackout”), a 22-minute documentary focusing on the five years of power outages since Hurricane Maria struck the island.
• Collette Chilton, Williams’ chief investment officer since 2006, received the 2022 Americas Industry Leadership Award from 100 Women in Finance (100WF), a global finance industry organization, for advancing standards of excellence in investing.
• Chair of Leadership Studies and Professor of Political Science Justin Crowe ’03 predicts the impact of new Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson on the Supreme Court in an interview with WCCO News Talk radio in Minneapolis.

• Psychology and math major Daniela Galvez-Cepeda ’24, who won the inaugural Vicki L. Schechtman Scholarship from the Association for Women in Science, shares her thoughts on leadership roles, her summer work studying the origins of gender stereotypes in children and more.
• The Pavlovian Society awarded Yuichi Fukunaga ’23 the Bucci Undergraduate Scholarship to attend the society’s annual meeting, where scientists will discuss—and sometimes heatedly debate—current issues in behavioral neuroscience and learning.
• On Sept. 20, the Williams Octet performed the national anthem at Yankee Stadium before the Yankees faced the Pittsburgh Pirates in baseball.
