The Office of Career Services hopes that you are looking foward to the new school year just as much as we are! We have some exciting events coming up and can't wait to see you there! We will once again be hosting the CASL Career Carival, Ford Day, and of course, our Annual Fall Career Fair.

We have numerous services available to help you at any point of your career including: Mock Interviews, Resume Critques, Job Search Techniques, Career Couseling and Coaching, and more! SCHOLARSHIP OPPROTUNITY

Enter to Win a $1,000 Scholarship!

For every challenge that you do within the Talent Gateway between September 3rd at 8am- September 19th at 5pm , you will be given one entry into the scholarship raffle. You must be present at the Talent Gateway Open House on September 25th from 4:30-6:30. To learn more about the Talent Gateway or how to join, please visit their website.

Nothing to wear?

Need a business professional outfit for the Fall Career Fair and don't want to break the bank? Head over to JCPenney in the Fairlane Mall (18900 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI) on September 22nd from 6 to 9 pm. Men and women's dress apparel will be up to 60% off - this also includes shoes and accessories. They'll also be offering professional headshots! For more information, see the flyer attached.

CAREER FAIR CRUNCH TIME

To help students get prepared for the Fall Career Fair on October 3rd, we will once again be hosting Career Fair Crunch Time. Career Ready Mini Workshops will be happening in one-hour increments. These Mini Workshops are a great way to ask any questions you have about your resume, to discuss interviewing strategies or to learn about the career fair itself. We will also be hosting a Smart Start Salary Negotiations with the Center for Social Justice and Inclusion.

2019 FALL CAREER FAIR:

October 3rd 2019

The Career Fair will be here before you know it! It will be held on Thursday, October 3rd from 10 am - 2 pm. For more information Download the Career Plus App on the App Store or the Google Play Store and search University of Michigan- Dearborn.

From there you can view which Employeers will be in attendance, and what majors and positions they will be looking for!

FORD DAY:

Ford Motor Company will be on campus on Thursday, September 26th!

Recruiters will be there to answer all your questions regarding the company. This also is a great way to network with current Ford Employees!

There will be two sessions at 12PM- 2PM & 3PM-5PM. Dress professionally and bring your resume!

STUDENT EMPLOYEMENT

Student Employee Retreat

The Office of Career Services held it's annual Student Employee Retreat on August 29th! Over 60 Student Employees attended. Presenations were given by the University of Michigan- Dearborn Public Saftey Department, Office of Counseling and Psychological Services and a panel returning student employees!

TOASTMASTERS

The Toast of Dearborn-Career Best

Did you know that we have a Toastmasters Club here on campus? Toastmaters is a great way to improve your interviewing and public speaking skills while meeting new people! The club meets every 2nd & 4th Thursday of evech month from 4:30-5:30pm in 285 FCN, Conference Room H.
