What You Need to Know

Safety strategy: The UO is taking a layered approach to safety as we return to in-person instruction and activities. This includes required vaccinations, a testing program, required face coverings, case management, enhanced ventilation and classroom cleaning, and more. The UO is following CDC Guidance for Institutions of Higher Education. Based on the UO’s vaccination requirement and current vaccination rates, we are adhering to guidance for a fully vaccinated campus.
Cash Prizes: Students who complete the UO vaccine requirement by tomorrow, September 10, will be eligible for new prizes totaling $50,000. Drawings will include 20 prizes of $1,000, 10 prizes of $2,000, and two prizes of $5,000, funded by federal COVID-19 relief dollars. Students should use myUOHealth to submit their records and be automatically entered into the drawings.
Free wellness kits: The university has a limited supply of free wellness kits available to students, faculty, and staff beginning Sept. 20. The kits, which include hand sanitizer, UO branded masks and a thermometer, can be picked up with a valid UO ID at the EMU O Desk while supplies last. Limit one kit per person.
Support for employees: Human resources offers supervisors and employees resources to help plan for the transition to mostly in-person instruction, research, and operations this fall.

Featured FAQ

Will the UO be conducting any mandatory COVID-19 testing this fall?
Yes, the university will require the small percentage of individuals who have received a vaccination exemption to take part in weekly COVID-19 testing to protect the campus community. Mandatory testing will begin September 27, the first day of fall term classes, and will take place on campus through the UO Monitoring and Assessment Program.
