This month, we share the 2016-2017 Leading Chapter winners, reminders, and where you and coaches in your district can access helpful information about other programs.
Leading Chapter Winners
Each year the top chapter in accumulated members and degrees, not more than one per district, receives the Leading Chapter Award; then its accumulated total returns to zero and it begins a new record. The Leading Chapter Award is given out by the district chair at the district tournament. We're excited to share the list of winners for the 2016-2017 school year!
Note: If you are a district chair and your school is the recipient of the Leading Chapter Award, we encourage you to invite someone else to present the award to you.
Leading Chapter Award recipients are recognized by the NSDA and their administrators also receive letters of congratulation. Consider taking things up a notch and inviting the winner's principal to attend the award ceremony at your district tournament!
Deadline Extended!
Want to nominate an educator but haven't collected the recommendation letters yet? Start the application to establish your intent to submit, then collect the materials over the next two weeks. We'll accept completed applications through November 15.
Share What You've Learned as a Leader
If you're interested in presenting at the 2018 NSDA National Conference but need a little more time to finalize your plans, we have good news! Start the application and we'll give you until November 15 to finish it! Sessions should support our theme of Radiant Voices: Empowerment through Speech and Debate.As leaders in our community, we'd love to hear you share your strategies with other speech and debate educators. Plus, there will be a leadership track at the conference. We hope you'll join us in Phoenix!
District Tournament Date Submission
Chairs, it's time to register your district tournament dates and provide other information necessary for the NSDA to prepare your materials! This year, the listing will be submitted via Tabroom.com and is due November 15. For detailed instructions on submitting dates, click here.
District Info and Search Records
You and your district's coaches can access the District Info tab of your NSDA website account to view member schools, contact other coaches in the district, and keep tabs on district status.
Plus, members can use the Search Records function when logged in to find member coaches or schools and view rosters.
