Take Your Legislator to Work Week 2025
|
October was National Disability Employment Awareness Month with legislators joining some people we support at The Arc Montgomery County at their places of work. Jennifer is employed at Safeway and was visited by Delegates Kaufman and Wolek. Meanwhile, Sharon (who works at Omega Recording Studios) spent time with Councilmember Gabe Albornoz.
Only 37% of working-age people with disabilities have jobs, compared with 75% of people without disabilities. Hire people with disabilities. Diversify your workforce!

An impressive undertaking for Employment & Meaningful Day as the sizable program set sail on the Odessey DC on October 1. What a way to kick off the month! It was a gorgeous day and passengers got lunch, made connections and danced on the dance floor to music provided by a DJ.
