Get the Guides: How to Host a Tournament

A lot goes in to hosting a tournament! Our guide to hosting from Hall of Fame coach Steve Meadows is designed to help you through your first hosting experience. You can reference the hosting checklist, view sample jobs for team members and volunteers, and download a sample invite. Remember, you can claim service citations for hosting or tabbing a tournament which contribute to Don Crabtree Distinguished Service awards.

Coach, Student, and Administrator Awards

Nominations are now open for all of our district to national awards! Each winner of the following district awards is automatically entered into the running for the national-level award when reported by your district chair.

District chairs, be sure to report your winners by April 16 for national award consideration.

Nominations are also open for the following middle school national awards! All entries are automatically considered for the national award.

Submit Hall of Fame Nominations

The highest honor for any high school speech and debate coach is election to the NSDA Hall of Fame. As a member coach, you can log in and submit a Hall of Fame nomination by Monday, February 3, for consideration!

In April, current Hall of Fame members and coaches with at least three diamonds vote to determine which nominees will be inducted.

Planning for Speech and Debate's Biggest Day

On March 6, we celebrate National Speech and Debate Education Day and the life-changing skills you and thousnds of other coaches have taught students through this activity.

Help sends students to Nationals! Fundraisers for the Tate Fund will be matched up to $10,000.

Celebrate Supporters with an Honorary NSDA Membership

Did you know you can nominate an adult who has contributed to your team to be an honorary National Speech & Debate Association member? This is a great way to generate buy-in from administrators or honor a parent who helps your team! Honorary members must be adults who have contributed in some significant way to the speech and debate program of the local chapter, but have not earned Association membership as a student or instructor.
