Experience Matters: When it Comes to Correctional Projects, Look Beyond the Resume

When you go to the doctor, you want the best of the best operating on you. The same is true for construction, especially for justice and correctional projects. When creating a building from the ground up, experience that’s recent, relevant and local matters.
We sat down with Rick Bruining, project executive, and Alex Roten, project manager, to learn more about the value of wisdom and experience when selecting a general contractor for justice and corrections projects.

BELL Completes Second Amazon Tower from Nashville Yards Project

The second phase of the Amazon Office Towers, part of BELL’s Nashville Yards project, is now complete. Amazon Tower 2, a 26-story building, features a two-story, 6,000-square-foot lobby with an exterior amenity deck with views of the eastern downtown skyline. The project was constructed within the footprint of the Amazon Prime 1 Office Tower and Garage project, as it also sits atop the parking garage. We are excited to see another piece of the Nashville Yards come to life and are grateful for all of the hard work our team has poured into this project!

BELL Celebrates Construction Safety Week

“Safety Starts With Me” is highlighted throughout BELL’s office and across job sites, reminding our team members, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners that safety is our top priority. In celebration of Construction Safety Week, during May 1-5, we asked our team members, "What does Safety mean to you?"

In addition, FallTech, a fall protection gear company, spoke at our first Safety Stand Down event at the Buckner Lane job site during this year’s Construction Safety Week. This was a great opportunity to celebrate the meaning and significance behind this annual event and re-emphasize the importance of safety to our team.

BELL Invests in the Community with Friends of Shelby Park

Our team recently spent time landscaping, rebuilding pedestrian bridge rails, and picking up trash at Shelby Park and Bottoms with Friends of Shelby Park, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement, and promotion of Shelby Park and Bottoms for everyone to appreciate and protect. Friends of Shelby Park, thank you for the opportunity!

4:13 Strong Visits Buckner Lane Construction Site

Last month, our Superintendents at Buckner Lane hosted the spring class of 4:13 Strong, a nonprofit that provides job training and placement for 18-30 year-old men in Nashville, onsite. The gentlemen toured the entire project and listened to a presentation from our Safety team. As a result, Xaveair, a program student, has joined the BELL team as a skilled laborer. Welcome to the BELL family, Xaveair!
