PRINCIPAL’S UPDATE
The staff at EVHS for years has used a framework of systems, leadership, instruction, and culture to guide our school wide areas of focus. For example, last year we identified that cell phones had become a source of different problems at school. So to improve the general culture in our building, we made a systems change around policies for cell phone use during class time to help improve our instructional environment. Although listed as four separate areas the collective of systems, leadership, instruction, and culture constantly cross over and influence each other.
We have updates to two of our systems for the 2022-23 school year. At our registration days in August we passed out information regarding Eagle County Schools standards based grading and attendance policies. Use the following links to access the handouts:
All of these documents reflect systems that are important to the culture and instruction in our school community. There are policy details that are important to understand; yet, the overarching communication is that we will continue to modify our systems in order to change or improve our outcomes.
