National Disability Employment Awareness Month
We Work To Keep MoCo Running Smoothly!
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and if you look around you will see employees with disabilities all over Montgomery County, many in roles that are essential to keeping our community running smoothly. That's certainly true of Katie, Izzy, Victoria, and Justina, our Employment Services team at Potomac Public Library. They work on-site to vacuum, polish, disinfect, and clean all areas of the library. Their hard work ensures a pleasant and safe experience for library patrons in our community.
The theme for NDEAM 2021 is "America's Recovery: Powered by Inclusion," and we know that to be true. Our employment teams and the individuals we support are vital to operations all over the county. That's proof positive that inclusion changes lives and strengthens communities!
Celebrating Direct Support Professionals
The Arc Montgomery County had the honor of thanking the DSPs during Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week, September 12-18, 2021!  The week began with our wonderful volunteers from JCPenney packing up giftboxes, and it continued through the distribution of gifts, participation in our Cultural Attire Showcase, and prize drawings all week long!
DSPs are the backbone and the heartbeat of our organization. We had an uplifting week, and we encourage you to help us keep that gratitude flowing all year long!

Back By Popular Demand

Discussions with Daria are back! These weekly discussions provide an opportunity for The Arc Montgomery County's employees, people supported, and families of people supported to engage directly with our CEO on a regular basis. Each Friday at 3 pm, Daria Cervantes will host a Zoom discussion targeted to a particular group.
