"My Voice, Our Equal Future"

The sad truth is that girls face discrimination and inequality every day. The International Day of the Girl addresses the various challenges girls face around the world. Rock the Street, Wall Street joins that fight by providing teenage girls the opportunity to pursue an impactful financial education, become leaders and an opportunity to build the ranks of women in an M of STEM career. (STEM careers lift people out of poverty in one generation.) RTSWS sparks girls' interest at a critical juncture in their lives, pre-college planning, and expands their perceptions of what a person who works in finance looks like beyond the traditional stereotypes.
Powerfully stated in a United Nations article, "Empowering women and girls and promoting gender equality is crucial to accelerating sustainable development. Ending all forms of discrimination against women and girls is not only a basic human right, but it also has a multiplier effect across all other development areas."

Why let students have all the fun? Everyone we know would enjoy seeing a day in the life of a financial professional like yourself. The #1 reason girls don't choose STEM professions? They don't see women in those professions. Women in finance are not depicted in popular culture. YOU CAN CHANGE THAT!
If you are a RTSWS sponsor or volunteer and want to change the ratio of women who own their financial independence and learn more about your profession, we want to hear from you. Get a group of your colleagues to do it with you!
Contact Sarah, our Program and Alumnae Coordinator for more details.
