Dear ATMIA Member,
ATMIA continues to advance the cause of cash as the most secure, reliable, and stable payment method available. In particular, as the economy continues to open up we will maintain pressure on businesses and the government to ease the restrictions and advice against the use of cash. Our message is simple: these measures were introduced in response to the health crisis of COVID-19. As we continue to succeed in controlling the virus and vaccines begin to roll out the need for the measures will decrease, and as a result, appropriate changes in policy should be enacted.

This was reflected last month at ATMIA’s meeting with AusPayNet, where we received a commitment to return the contactless payment limit back to $100 no pin limit, once the Biosecurity Emergency Declaration is over. To view minutes from the teleconference forum click here.
