This years meeting will be held at the Wilson County Expo Center in Lebanon from 10:30a.m. until 2p.m.

71st Annual TN 4-H Congress
In late March, delegates around the state will convene for the 71st Annual Tennessee 4-H Congress. This year’s Congress will be held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee from March 18th until the 21st. Read More

Steak Soup
Recipe by Lamar Alexander, Governor of Tennessee, 1979-87
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1lb ground beef
  • 1 c. cubed onion, 1 c. cubed carrots, 1 c. cubed celery
  • 1 c. frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 can (15oz) tomatoes
  • 4 beef bouilion cubes
  • Freshly ground pepper and salt to taste
Blend butter and flour in large saucepan to make smooth paste. Stir in 2 quarts water; set aside. Saute ground beef in skillet, stirring until crumbly; pour off excess drippings. Parboil onions, carrots and celery in saucepan; drain. Add with ground beef and remaining ingredients to flour mixture; mix well. Bring to a boil; reduce temperature. Simmer until vegetables are tender. Mrs. Alexander freezes this soup.
