Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance is a free event for YSU faculty, staff, students, and community members from the surrounding area. This event will take place on January 17, 2019, at 12:30 pm in the Kilcawley Center Chestnut Room at YSU.
The event is designed to recognize faculty, staff, students, and community members who exemplify MLK's values of service and dedication to YSU and the surrounding community. Individuals can be nominated for the following four awards:
- Campus Leadership: Recognizes a faculty member, staff member, or an administrator who demonstrates a commitment to service and inclusion at YSU or in the community.
- Community Leadership: Recognizes an individual from a business, group, agency, organization, or community initiative that demonstrates a commitment to service and inclusion in the community.
- Student Leadership: Recognizes a current, upper-division YSU student (junior, senior, or graduate) who demonstrates a commitment to service and inclusion at YSU or in the community.
- Emerging Leader: Recognizes a current, lower-division YSU student (freshman or sophomore) who demonstrates a commitment to service and inclusion at YSU or in the community.
