A Message from the Interim Director
Dear friends of the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development,
I hope you’re having a fun summer. I’m pleased to share some exciting news and updates from the Center. We have had several big events since our last newsletter, including the 2024 Baseball Bonanza and a talk by Dr. Temple Grandin. The sensory-friendly movie series at the Carolina Theatre and our Duke Autism Seminar Series will both be back in the fall.
Our research teams are continuing some very promising research projects through the NIH Autism Center for Excellence and have published new articles in prominent scientific journals. A team of providers from our clinic have won a national award for their excellent work with the community.
Read on for some additional highlights about these events and projects.
With so many wonderful things going on, we’ve decided to start sending these newsletters bi-monthly, rather than quarterly, so you can look forward to receiving news from the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development more regularly.
You can also connect with us on social media – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter) – for news and more.
Best,
Lauren Franz, MB, CHB, MPH
Interim Director
