Message from the Associate Dean and Extension Director

On 25 August 2017 I received the first notification that I was to go through a five-year administrative review associated with my duties as the Associate Dean and Director of Extension and Economic Development.  That notification instructed me to submit a self-study document in 30 days. 

In February 2018, the review committee began the review process that included the following elements: a review of the self-study document, an interview with me, distribution of a survey across the division, open forums in Tucson and Phoenix, analysis and interpretation of all collected data, and the development of a report.  Vice President Burgess concluded the review process on 29 August 2018 with an open forum where I had the opportunity to discuss my lessons learned from the experience.

Overall, it has been a very instructive and interesting process.  Consistent with the two administrative reviews that I experienced as a department head, the results provide me with a great opportunity to benefit from the input and recommendations from the review committee.

Welcome Jeremy Elliott-Engel.  I am delighted to announce that today is Dr. Jeremy Elliott-Engel's first day as the Director of 4-H Youth Development.  We have been looking forward to Jeremy's arrival and he is anxious to start and be directly involved in the great 4-H YD programs we have going on around the state.
