Aleris Smart Pump Alert
On May 10th, our department was notified that a software bug has been found in the Alaris Smart pumps.  Under a certain condition, the bug may cause the pump to revert to a previously used weight, causing unintended infusion rates.

A fix should be installed, starting on May 16th and completed by the end of May.

Until that time, If you use a weight based infusion AND a weight based bolus then be careful that the pump doesn’t revert to the previous weight.

"We are Compassionate"
"Sorry that I did not get a chance to personally thank you, Calvin (Gruss), and the rest of your team for the care you provided for me prior to being discharged. I am resting comfortably at home without pain, and looking forward to a quick recovery. You are an incredible person that took the time to ensure I understood the procedure, expectations, concerns, and the end result. As well you also have a tremendous sense of humor." Doug Kasel, patient
