Friends:
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Development for Habitat for Humanity Albuquerque. Monday, January 9th was my first official day and I can tell you this mission is near and dear to my heart.
Years ago, while living in Pennsylvania, I worked with a local chapter as Director of Development for a school and residential treatment facility for court-adjudicated youth. Our boys volunteered on many Habitat projects which provided these highly at-risk, inner-city young men valuable skills in the construction trades and an incredible sense of self-esteem and confidence as each project was completed. Eventually, that local chapter invited me to sit on their board, which I was honored to do for several years.
Like many of you, my first introduction to this mission was through President Jimmy Carter. Decades have passed since that introduction but my passion for this mission has exponentially increased.
A little about me: Born and bred in Connecticut, I have worked in Development and Leadership roles for nonprofits since 1999. That work has brought me all over our country to many different missions both domestically and internationally. Most of my work has focused on advocating for women and children, veterans and the homeless. Joining Habitat allows me to continue working for low-income families, which is my dream job.
We will be introducing a new monthly single page email to keep you posted on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and of course, our family’s successes. We will also be sending out a donor survey in the next few months so that you can tell me what you need from us. It will be short – probably 10 or less questions, but if you would take a moment to fill it out and return, we would be most appreciative. It will help Habitat to better serve your needs.
I am here to serve you. If you need any information, help, etc., please do not hesitate to call or email me.
Please feel free to contact me at: liz@habitatabq.org or by phone at 505-359-2423 ext. 102. My cell is 717-614-9135.
I look forward to meeting or speaking with each and every supporter of Habitat for Humanity Albuquerque.
Most Sincerely,
