Don’t Quit

by Edgar Albert Guest

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit-
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Vaccination Requirement at NJCU

NJCU’s highest priority is a safe return to a vibrant in-person learning environment this coming Fall 2021 semester. Now that vaccines are widely available, we are taking the necessary steps to expand in-person activities to enrich your college experience this fall. With that goal in mind, students taking in-person classes will be required to show proof of immunization. The vaccine requirement falls within the scope of existing NJCU and State of New Jersey immunization policy and requirements.

NJCU Children’s Learning Center

At NJCU, it's not just college students receiving an affordable world-class education—young children of University students, alumni, and employees receive the same at the University's fully licensed and accredited Children's Learning Center (CLC). The center consists of a Preschool and Pre-K classroom as well as drop-in childcare services—all at an extremely competitive cost to parents.  In addition, the center serves as a training site for NJCU students.  The Children's Learning Center provides a setting that supports NJCU students in their preprofessional field experience.

The Children’s Learning Center has been awarded the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of CCAMPIS is to assist low-income students with child care expenses so that they can persist and graduate. Eligible student parents will receive a 50% discount towards their child care tuition at the Children’s Learning Center. Applicants will be selected based on need and space availability.
