Beginning March 29, 2021, all individuals age 16 and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Texas. It takes all of us to stop the spread of COVID-19. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated. While vaccinations are not required, they are highly recommended. When enough people get vaccinated, it makes the spread of COVID-19 from person to person unlikely and the whole community becomes protected. This newsletter provides helpful information about the COVID-19 vaccine and why members of the UT and FAS communities are choosing to get vaccinated to help Protect Texas Together.

Who can get vaccinated?
Beginning March 29, all individuals age 16 or older are eligible to receive the vaccine in Texas. UT Austin is currently vaccinating faculty, staff and students who want to receive the vaccine from the university. Any current university student, staff or faculty member age 16 or older who has pre-registered by filling out the UT COVID-19 Vaccine Form will receive a personalized invitation to schedule an appointment. The form remains open. If you fill out the form, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment. Employees are not required to get a vaccination through the university. Members of the general public, which includes spouses and dependents of UT employees and UT retirees, may request a vaccine from UT Health Austin.
