FEATURED FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES |
Human Tumor Atlas (HTA) Research Centers (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) |
Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the NCI solicits applications for HTA Research Centers, one of the three scientific components of the NCI HTA Network (HTAN). Each HTA Research Center will construct one human pre-cancer or advanced cancer atlas, with an explicit emphasis on how evolving spatial relationships contribute to important transitions in cancer from tumor initiation to metastasis.
Deadline: December 5, 2023
|
Pre-Cancer Atlas (PCA) Research Centers (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) |
This NOFO solicits applications for PCA Research Centers, one of the three scientific components of the NCI HTAN. Each PCA Research Center will construct one 3D pre-cancer atlas that comprehensively characterizes a pre-malignant lesion, with an explicit emphasis on understanding the transition from a precancerous lesion to malignancy.
Deadline: December 5, 2023
|
Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (Parent F32) |
The purpose of the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship is to support research training of postdoctoral candidates who possess the potential to become productive, independent investigators in scientific health-related research fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. This NOFO is designed specifically for candidates proposing research that does not involve leading an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or an ancillary clinical trial, yet it does allow candidates to propose research experience in a clinical trial led by a sponsor or co-sponsor.
Deadline: December 8, 2023
|
Translational Research Toward Development of a Kaposi Sarcoma Herpesvirus (KSHV) Vaccine (U01 Clinical Trial Optional) |
Through this NOFO, the NCI will support basic and translational research to guide the development of a prophylactic or therapeutic Kaposi sarcoma herpesvirus (KSHV) vaccine. The associated U01 research projects will form a cooperative group: the KSHV Vaccine Development Consortium (KVDC).
Deadline: December 23, 2023

EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION (EDI) |
November is Native American Heritage Month |
Moores is proud to celebrate its unique culture by recognizing November as Native American Heritage Month, in alignment with a draft statement by the UCSD Intertribal Resource Center:
The UC San Diego community holds great respect for the land and the original people of the area where our campus is located. The university is built on the un-ceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation. Today, the Kumeyaay people continue to maintain their political sovereignty and cultural traditions as vital members of the San Diego community. We acknowledge their tremendous contributions to our region and thank them for their stewardship.
The Intertribal Resource Center is working with Kumeyaay community members and the campus community to create an official statement for UC San Diego. Please visit https://itrc.ucsd.edu/ for more information and resources to help Moores celebrate you.
Moores Members are encouraged to contact EDI to recognize Native staff, researchers, faculty, or trainees (students) who have contributed to the community. Please share your nominees' names, email, and two to three sentences about their contribution to Moores, patient care, and/or research at mcc_edi@health.ucsd.edu.
