Congratulations to the Class of 2016!

The Owen School celebrated commencement on May 13, capping an impressive year of continued employment success and a rise to No. 22 in the U.S. News & World Report rankings (the school's highest ever in this ranking!). In a ceremony at the Vanderbilt Student Recreation Center, 175 students received their MBA; 49 earned an MSF degree; 31 were awarded a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree; 29 students were awarded a Master of Management in Health Care (MMHC) degree; and 51 students were awarded an Executive MBA (EMBA). Business excellence celebration
More than 130 business leaders and alumni attended a dinner at Owen on May 5 and heard Nashville Mayor Megan Barry (MBA'93) and American Airlines CEO Doug Parker (MBA'86) talk about the importance of building a vibrant business culture. Video soon!
Executive MBA scholarship awarded to public radio executive
Layla George, head of development for Louisville Public Media, has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship to the Executive MBA program. Read more.

Research examines how employees respond to corporate scandals

A new study from Professor Ray Friedman found that workers who heavily tied their personal identity to their job felt the strongest sense of shame and were most likely to plot an exit strategy when their company was caught doing something bad. Read more.
