Marketing Specialist and Ambassadors Wanted
The DTP seeks a Marketing Specialist to assist with writing, graphic design and online marketing through social media, email and online platforms. Qualified candidates can submit their application, resume and writing sample by clicking here.
The DTP is also looking to fill four new Safety Ambassador positions. Safety Ambassadors work in collaboration with the Tucson Police Department and various private and governmental security companies to provide supplemental safety services while providing an extra level of hospitality to downtown businesses, residents, visitors and employees. Downtown Lights Up on Nov. 25
The Building Illumination Program kicks off on November 25, as a unified initiative to illuminate Downtown Tucson's skyline for the holidays and attract people from all over the region to dine, shop, play and stay downtown. This is part of the larger Desert Nights Downtown Lights initiative, powered by the City of Tucson and Pima County, which sets the stage for a festive holiday season in Downtown Tucson. With over five weeks of festivities, over 60 illuminated buildings, 145 trees tightly wrapped with LED lights, and hundreds of events, programs and specials, Downtown Tucson is the place to be during the holiday season!

Proposals to Redistrict City Ward Boundaries
A public hearing was held last night to gather information from the public regarding ward redistricting. Submit comments and suggestions to the Redistricting Advisory Committee by mail c/o City Clerk, P.O. Box 27210, Tucson, AZ 85726-7210, emailed to cityclerk@tucsonaz.gov, or delivered in-person to the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 255 West Alameda, 9th floor, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 25.

Make Your Voice Heard on November 8
Use this interactive, mobile-friendly map to find a Vote Center near you, including two Vote Centers downtown at Armory Park Center and the TCC. Vote Centers are open on Election Day (Nov. 8) from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. A printable list of Vote Centers is also available. Click here for more info.

Fox Tucson Theatre Eyeing Major Expansion
Partnering with the Fox Theatre Foundation, Rio Nuevo unanimously approved a significant investment into the Fox's $20 million project to acquire all the adjacent property to the east of the theatre and open a new lobby, grand entrance, restaurant and rooftop bar. Click here for more info.

Empire Pizza Proposed Expansion
At the other end of Congress, the Rio Nuevo board agreed to invest up to $512,000 to help Empire Pizza expand into the vacant Hydra space immediately next door. Empire Pizza estimates their revenue will triple in the new combined location, after a million dollar plus renovation, with half coming from Rio Nuevo. Learn More.

The Crescent Smoke Shop Building
Across the street, the Rio Nuevo board agreed to master lease the property formerly known as The Crescent Smoke Shop, also vacant for a few years, and improve the property with an approximate $250,000 investment in order to seek a new tenant for that very important corner.

Indian Trading Post Building
Finally, The District approved an option to purchase, with terms yet decided, so The District can control the property known as The Indian Trading Post, on the corner of Scott and Congress. Rio Nuevo would then solicit nationally for a new operator to take over the vacant space and pay $1,500,000 for the property.

$1 Million Donated to Arizona Small Businesses
The Barstool Fund in partnership with the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl invites small businesses to apply for a one-time grant from the Barstool Fund. To apply for the funds, small businesses can go to www.barstool.link/AZBowlFund and click on the link to get started.
