Teaching Interpers About Theme
|
It's crucial for interpers to understand theme as they approach their cuttings. A simple way to give students practice identifying themes is to analyze animated shorts. Using both class discussion and small group work, students can watch the shorts Dust Buddies, Runaway, or a video of your choosing and discuss their thoughts on the theme(s). This activity is included in lesson 4 of both the high school and middle school Start Here lesson plans for Interp.

Coaches who perform service for the NSDA, such as hosting tournaments or recruiting or sponsoring new schools, earn service citations. This video demonstrates how to use Verbatim, a free, open-source platform for paperless debate, built as a template for Microsoft Word.
While Verbatim saves time, the formatting of cards in this video can also be achieved through more manual adjustment of font size, format, and spacing in any word processor.
