Westminster’s Swim & Fitness Center Prepares for Extensive ADA Accessibility Renovations

For nearly 50 years, the Swim & Fitness Center in Historic Westminster has provided residents with a dedicated place for swimming, programming, and building community. Now, after nearly five decades of service, the City will begin a $5.5 million renovation project at the facility this spring with a goal of improving ADA accessibility, guest and staff safety, as well as overall service and efficiency.

ADA Survey: Please help us develop the City’s ADA accessibility transition plan

The City of Westminster is dedicated to creating a place where residents of all abilities can live and thrive. Staff is in the process of developing a citywide ADA accessibility transition plan, and residents are invited to give their feedback in a short survey that can be found in the article. The survey will close Thursday, February 16.

Roadway Improvement Updates

Northbound Sheridan will be reduced to a single lane between 88th Ave. and US 36 from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, January 27 for paving operations. Traffic delays are anticipated and alternate routes are advised. This work will allow the project to be completed approximately one month sooner than originally scheduled. The City’s new water customer portal, Westy Water, will be live on February 14. The new portal offers residents and water customers the ability to monitor water consumption, pay bills, and receive emergency leak alerts via email. According to Westminster Municipal Code 8-1-10, snow and ice must be cleared off the sidewalk within 24 hours of measurable snowfall. This ensures safe travel for our residents who walk, bike, or roll around the city. Property owners are responsible for sidewalks that border their property, while the City is responsible for snow removal on public streets. Learn more.
