| R.A.D. Self-Defense Course

R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) training is a nationally recognized self-defense program with foundations in education and awareness. Seton Hall is currently only certified to teach the R.A.D. for Women Course designed to focus on risk awareness and self-defense. Participants interested in the R.A.D. for Men Class or other self-defense courses should contact Public Safety & Security at rad@shu.edu or (973) 761-9328.

We are currently accepting registrants for the next R.A.D. for Women Class which include the following dates with two sessions per day. Participants must attend all four sessions, which is offered at no cost.

Academic Symposium: “The Story of Catholic Education: Renewing Our Universities”

Professor of Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas Michael Naughton, Ph.D. to explore “The Story of Catholic Education: Renewing Our Universities.” Naughton is the director of the Center for Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota), where he holds the Koch Chair in Catholic Studies.

October 16-23, Sukkot (Jewish)- Every fall, Jews around the world celebrate the festival of the Sukkot by constructing a temporary dwelling called a sukkah. The holiday commemorates the forty-year period during which the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, living in temporary shelters.

Costumes encouraged. There are competition and recreational levels of play. There will be a beer garden featuring 4 City Brewing Company brews, hard seltzers and a food truck.

Diwali Fest NJ 2024 - October 27, Maplewood
SOMA Cross-Cultural Works partners with the Township of Maplewood to host the 6th annual Diwali Fest NJ, a unique multicultural celebration of Diwali (Festival of lights) and South Asian arts and culture for the whole community. Seton Hall is proud to co-sponsor Diwali Fest again this year.
