Game Face
Proud Logger alumnus and Associate Director of Admission Mike Rottersman ’99 has worked on Puget Sound’s admission team for 13 years. Currently, he serves as primary liaison to coaches in recruiting student-athletes, oversees the campus visit program, and plans most of Puget Sound’s large recruitment events—on and off campus (when we're allowed to have that kind of thing). When he’s not on campus or spending time with family, you’ll find Mike sprinting and side-shuffling his way along the lines of major league soccer fields. He’s been an assistant referee for 10 seasons, working 140 matches!

HACKS & CHOPS Faculty Director for Freedom Education Project Puget Sound Tanya Erzen, associate research professor of religious studies and gender and queer studies, was quoted by Inside Higher Ed in a story on the pitfalls of moving to remote learning in prison college programs.

A SENSE OF PLACE Installed in the brick walls greeting campus members and guests at Puget Sound’s main entrance on N. Alder Street are two niches carved with characters and symbols that are, at once, both familiar and foreign. It is the Lushootseed language of the coastal Salish, translated by the Tulalip Tribes of Washington. One niche (pictured above) is an interpretation for “University of Puget Sound”; the other is of “Her Guardian is the Mountain,” a line from our alma mater.
