Extended Break Shuttles and Housing

Airport Shuttles
Have a student flying out of Denver International Airport or the Colorado Springs Airport for Fall or Winter Break? Students may book a free one-way shuttle ticket from campus to the Denver or Colorado Springs airport for either the afternoon of Wednesday, or the morning of Thursday, at the start of breaks. These shuttles are sponsored by CCSGA, and space is limited. Students should sign up in person at the Worner Desk. There are no return trip shuttles, and students will need to make their own arrangements to return to campus. From DIA, many students use Groome Shuttle. (They can call 719-687-3456 and indicate they are CC students in order to be dropped off on campus.) Students flying into COS can use a ride share app or local taxi service.
Fall Break (Shuttles depart from Worner Center)
Wednesday, Nov. 15
Shuttle to DIA departs at 1 p.m.
Shuttle to COS departs at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 16
Shuttle to DIA departs at 7 a.m.
Shuttle to COS departs at 7:30 a.m.
Extended Break Housing
CC's Residence Halls are officially closed starting Thursday, Nov. 16, at noon, and reopen for students on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 8 a.m.

Students with a need to remain on campus for any portion of Fall Break must submit the Break Stay Form (available on the Housing page) no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. This includes all residential halls, small houses, apartments, and cottages. There is no additional charge to remain on campus, but approval is required.

Winter Break has a similar approval process for students wishing to remain in their residence halls during any portion of the break. Basic information about dates and the approval process for Winter Break can also be found on the Break Stay Form.
As a reminder, for all break periods, there may be a reduced level of services on campus. Front desk and dining hours are subject to change and will be shared with students when available.

Save the Date: Winter Commencement

Career Center: Keller Venture Grants

Last year, over $120,000 in Keller Family Venture Grants were awarded to 110 CC students to pursue individual research projects. Some of these Keller Family Venture Grant students traveled globally, and others engaged in research domestically.

We hope you will encourage your students to come hear their stories on Thursday, Nov. 9; presentations begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center–Richard F. Celeste Theatre.
If you are local, please feel free to join in person! Or visit the Keller Venture Grant page online for more information about Keller Family Venture Grants and to see examples of student projects.

Housing Sessions for Rising Seniors

The housing portal opened on Oct. 30 for Class of 2025 students to sign their housing agreements. Students will have until Nov. 15 to sign their agreement. Failure to sign the housing agreement will result in students not receiving a timeslot to select housing. The Senior Housing page has been recently updated to include the info session slides, important dates, and some off-campus guides created by the housing office.
The Residential Experience will be hosting housing information sessions for our rising seniors. In each info session, we will be talking all things senior housing, starting with which properties will be available during selection, and how the selection process will work. Members of the Residential Experience Team will be in attendance and presenting to help answer questions. Please encourage your rising senior to attend.

Upcoming Info Sessions This Month Include:
  • Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. in South Hall Commons
  • Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. in JLK McHugh Commons (above The Preserve)
  • Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in Bemis Great Hall
For more information on Senior Housing, please visit the Senior Housing Selection page. For any questions your student may have, please advise them to reach out to the Housing Office.
