More than 600 graduates will join the ranks of Logger alumni at Puget Sound’s 127th Commencement Ceremony on May 19. Can’t be there? Livestream the ceremony.
Commencement Weekend celebrates the Class of 2019 with three days of special events, including Grad Party, Academic Convocation, and the Commencement Brunch.
Logger grads have access to grad school and career advising, alumni clubs across the country, and more to help launch life after college while staying connected to campus.
Megan Sanders ’19 will explore the significance of asking difficult questions in her Commencement speech, “Curiosity and Humanity: Embracing Our ‘Boundless Promise.’”
Each year, four student leaders help plan the Orientation program that introduces first-years to life as a Logger and the campus—and community—they’ll call home for the next four years. This year’s leaders are Mariah Thomson ’20, Ruby Krietzman ’20, Amy Colliver ’20, and Addy Toevs ’20.
DID YOU KNOW? The term “bumbershoot” has been a nickname for the umbrella for nearly 130 years, with “bumber” likely a modification of “umbr-” and “shoot” stemming from “-chute” in “parachute,” since an open umbrella looks a lot like an open parachute.
