GPCID Board Meeting Reminder
September 14, 2022

Don’t forget that the next Gwinnett Place CID Board Meeting is Wednesday, September 14 at 7:30 a.m. in the Sonesta Place Gwinnett Atlanta.
District Development Update
The Gwinnett Place Mall site revitalization strategy is entering its final phase as the VHB consultant team incorporates final comments into the implementation strategy. This action plan for developing the Global Villages is grounded in data-driven market analysis, extensive community engagement and economic sustainability. The Global Villages concept is predominantly residential with modest amounts of new retail and office developments. The focal point will be a new international culture and community center and central park where people who live, work, dine and play in the district can experience and enjoy all the cultures that comprise our diverse community.

MARS Nominations are Open!

GPCID is proud to host Partnership Gwinnett’s Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit (MARS) on October 13 at one of Gwinnett Place’s redevelopment success stories! The event venue, our own Gwinnett Place Studio Movie Grill, is an adaptive reuse project converted from a former Circuit City.

If you have not already done so, nominate a project or individual for an award before September 12! The MARS awards are divided into three categories depending on the receiving project’s size: Small, Medium, or Large. A fourth award, the Redevelopment Champion Award, is designed for individuals who have contributed to meaningful redevelopment projects in the metro Atlanta area through their leadership and vision.

GPCID Partners with Community Leaders for Create Gwinnett

Share your insight and help create a plan for the arts and culture economy! Take the Create Gwinnett online survey and let your voice be heard!

GPCID has partnered with other community leaders for the creation of Create Gwinnett, our Gwinnett Arts & Creative Economy Master Plan. This is the first comprehensive plan for Gwinnett County to grow creatively and support arts and culture as pillars of prosperity. To make this initiative a success, we ask for your participation.

In addition to supporting our existing creative community, the Create Gwinnett initiative will support job creation, talent development and creative enterprise inventory. It will also set a precedent for developing policies for funding, identifying and creating an inventory of current resources, developing priorities for future projects and encouraging a sense of community between residents and stakeholders.

You can learn more about Gwinnett’s arts and culture events and developments at Artworks Gwinnett
