Happy July!

We are working hard to make sure you have a great summer by sticking with your Y! While we wait for the green light from the Governor's office on when we can open, we still have all the fun activities, sports camps, and outdoor training available that you know and love.
More than fitness. We've also been filling the needs of our great community these last 16 weeks through our food programming and childcare. Our Free Youth Food Program has provided over 39,000 meals to children 18 and under in Bay County, we've handed out over 900 emergency food boxes to those who needed food resources of which almost 200 have been delivered to Bay County residents’ homes, and provided needed Childcare services to over 40 families of essential workers. We are here for you!
Last month, we began providing outdoor Group Exercise classes for our members! The Y is carefully planning a safe return for all of our members. As we make our first strides to the new normal, this is one way we are reengaging our services to support healthy living. Please continue reading for more announcements, including information about summer day camp and an update about our annual Rise 'n Shine race! Please read on to learn about virtual sports and fitness programs we are currently offering.

Outdoor Group Exercise

Members! We are beginning our slow return back to serving our community through health and wellness. You may already have taken one of our outdoor group ex classes or perhaps you've been wanting to try one! Beginning July 6th, we will be offering a new schedule of outdoor group ex classes. We do require that you reserve your spot and pay $5 per class. Follow this link to learn more, check out our current schedule, and to reserve your spot!

Virtual Rise 'n Shine 2020
Our annual Rise 'n Shine is going virtual this year! To protect both the volunteers, runners, and onlookers attending the event, we've decided that it would be the safest option for everyone to help stop the spread and continue maintaining social distancing guidelines. That being said, with the help of this year's sponsors, our runners will be able to sign up and run the race virtually! The same races you know and love - Rise 'n Shine, Little Rays of Sun, and the Kids Tri 'n Shine - will still be available to run this year. Take a look at our page for more information. All proceeds go to the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA Financial Assistance Program.

We Can't Thank You Enough!

Can you believe it's been over 3 months that the Y has been closed? We can't, but we are so grateful to all of our members for sticking with us these 3 long months. We have seen amazing, generous acts from many of you through kind words, financial donations, and showing care for when and how we reopen. We are convinced we have the best members! Please continue to stick with us, as it looks like the end of business closures is near. Though we must still wait for guidelines from the authorities regarding a reopening date, we are diligently planning, cleaning, and otherwise preparing for your safe and happy return. Be rest assured that we will communicate our reopening date and plan with you quickly and effectively once we have the details in place. We hope to see you soon!
