Dear TMI Families,
As I wrote in my most recent Upper Story in the Parent Pal letter, the course registration planning process began in Advisory earlier this month. The next three weeks will be focused on solidifying choices and requesting them through onCampus. Through mid-February, our Registrar, teachers, department chairs, and advisors will continue to work with our students on course planning and selection for the next academic year.
Here are a few important details to keep in mind:
|
- A detailed guide to Course Registration for 2025-2026 can be found here or through your onCampus portal by following the steps below:
- Click the “Resources” tab
-
Go to the “Publications and Forms” box
- Select “Course Registration 2025-2026” under the “General Publications & Guides” heading.
-
AP, Honors, and Advanced Topic courses may only be requested with the recommendation of current teachers and approval by department chairs. Details about this process can be found in the Parent-Student Handbook. Recommended students will see in onCampus what advanced courses they are able to request.
-
All recommendations are pending, based on students' continued success for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Division Heads will make final decisions for borderline cases and all appeals must go through Mr. Kountz (current 9th-11th grade) and Mrs. Sanderson (current 8th) after discussions with current teachers.
-
Students who wish to take more than four AP/Honors courses must submit the request form through the Student Office.
- All 9th-11th grade students must take 7 courses and a study hall; 12th grade students may elect to take 6 classes.
-
General questions about the process may be directed to Nikki Griffin, Registrar, Rachel Belden of the College Counseling team, and Fred Kountz, Head of Upper School.

Official Registration opens in onCampus on Monday, February 4th, and must be completed by Tuesday, February 18th. A hard copy of the parent-approval form will be sent home with students the week of January 27th; you may also print out a copy from the Registration Site. Please review these with your child, sign them, and return them to advisors by February 4th. While this form is not absolutely necessary to complete the process, it is helpful to know that you have reviewed your student’s requests. Along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
As always, thank you for partnering with us.
Mr. Fred Kountz
Head of Upper School
