Our 175th Anniversary!
In honor of our 175th Anniversary, four special services will be held.  The Reverend Ed Covert was Christ Episcopal Church's longest serving Rector.  For 20 years he steered the church toward growth of the congregation, re-organization, financial security, and updating the church properties.  Ed will be visiting Christ Church on Sunday, September 11th.  At 9:30 he will be in the sanctuary with "Tales to Tell".  At 10:30 he will lead the church service followed by unveiling the next section of the timeline and a reception in the Parish House.
Additional celebrations with guests will include one worship service at 10:30 followed by a reception in the Parish House.  They are:
• October 16, Father Nick Hull's First Service
• October 23, Bishop Heath Light
• November 20, Bishop Mark Bourlakas

Join Us in October, Welcome!
Hello Christ Episcopal Church! Leandra, Vanilla Bean and I are so excited to join you all in Martinsville. We have enjoyed watching the rectory come along and have cherished getting to know a few members of the Church. We are continuously overwhelmed by your generosity and enthusiasm, and feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to become part of your community. We are in the strange, but special time when we are imagining what our future together will look like with countless worship services, lots of laughter, challenges, and all of the good work we do together. If I have learned one thing in my short time in ministry it is that the one thing you can count on for the future is that it will be unexpected. Regardless of what lies before us I hope we can approach it with humility, grace and a mutual joy for worshipping and dwelling together in Christ’s love. I am so excited to be your next rector, and I look forward to the years we will spend growing together in the special place you have made at Christ Episcopal Church.

Blessings,
Fr. Nick
