“Caring for Downtown” is more than a statement posted on all of our vehicles and marketing materials. It’s a heartfelt commitment that guides our organization and staff members on a daily basis. Much of our work goes on behind the scenes. My goal is to increase awareness of the Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) and the work we do as an organization. That is the intention of this new CEO Update and the following short video. I look forward to sharing more exciting downtown news with you in the future.
See you around downtown,
Kathleen
The DTP is proud to share our new Five-Year Strategic Plan 2022-2027, FY 21/22 Annual Report, and the Strategic Diversity Plan. Click below to learn more.
Ronstadt Transit Center Taskforce
DTP created the Ronstadt Transit Center Taskforce with our partners at Sun Tran, Tucson Police Department and Ward 6, which meets weekly to address critical safety and maintenance issues. A huge thank you to Rio Nuevo and Fletcher McCusker for funding four off-duty police officers, patrolling the area daily for one year.
DTP Safety Ambassador Saves Lives
DTP Safety Ambassadors received NARCAN overdose response training through the Pima County Health Department Community Mental Health and Addiction program. DTP Safety Ambassador, Jose Garcia saved two lives in the span of one week. Thank you, Jose! We’re so proud of our entire team.
Attention To Detail
The downtown is looking cleaner and greener than ever! The DTP Maintenance Team has been hyper-focused on getting the sidewalks cleaner through increased sweeping and power washing, pulling weeds, curb painting, removal of stickers and polishing up the Big Belly solar-powered trash compactors. Have a maintenance request? Click here or call 520-940-1038.
Clean & Green Team Out In Force
The Clean & Green team, comprised of nine clients of the nonprofit Desert Survivors Inc., helps to water and maintain over 200 city planters. Our partnership with Desert Survivors makes the downtown beautiful while providing meaningful work for our neighbors with disabilities.
