It provides information about water-related conferences, collaborative courses and field experiences, undergraduate research positions and internships, and other opportunities for students, faculty, and staff at UW System institutions. Please share information with students and colleagues on your campus.

Registration Open for FresH2O Partner Event |
Join us for our first-ever FresH2O Partner Event on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the UW-Madison Pyle Center. The event will bring together faculty and staff throughout UW System and partners from industry, government agencies and nonprofits to discuss how to collaborate on issues such as PFAS, phosphorus pollution, research and creating a pipeline to jobs. The event will include facilitated discussions in the afternoon and an evening networking event. Communicate with your campus' Freshwater Collaborative Steering Committee member to see what your campus' strategy for attendance and participation is.

Great Lakes Freshwater Symposium: Protecting Wetlands Post Sackett Decision |
The next Great Lakes Freshwater Symposium will take place Tuesday, Oct. 3, from noon to 1 p.m. A panel of wetlands researchers and policy experts will discuss how Sackett v. EPA (the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on wetlands) will affect Wisconsin, surrounding areas and the Great Lakes. This event will take place via Zoom Webinar, and we encourage you to invite colleagues.

Upcoming Water Conferences for Faculty and Students |

Oct. 16-18: Great Lakes Beach Association Conference. The Great Lakes Beach Association has extended its deadline for abstracts for students and oral presentations until Oct. 2. The conference will take place in Sturgeon Bay and will feature sessions about the current science, best management practices and restoration efforts for Great Lakes beaches. Student registrations are only $25 thanks to sponsorships from the Freshwater Collaborative. For questions, contact Greg Kleinheinz (kleinhei@uwosh.edu) or Carmen Ebert (ebertc@uwosh.edu).
