National Educator of the Year Finalists

Congratulations to the 2020 National Educator of the Year finalists! These individuals were selected by a panel of member coaches and Hall of Fame members for their work in the classroom to enhance the quality of education in the field of speech and debate.

Congratulations to our 2020 Educator of the Year Finalists! Christy Briggs - Reno High School (NV). Shawna Christenson - The Weiss School (FL). Elizabeth Eskin - Timber Creek High School (FL). Renea Moss - Miramar High School (FL). Gary Peters - Ben Davis High School (IN).

Finalists will submit portfolios for evaluation and the winner will be announced on March 4 in the lead-up to National Speech and Debate Education Day. Stay tuned!

Reserve Hotel Rooms for Nationals

The Nationals hotel block is now open. If your team stays within block, you will receive a $25 discount off the main event entry fee per student. You must use the online booking site. Please do NOT call the hotels directly to book your rooms. If you expect your students to qualify, book rooms early! Tournament registration opens March 1.

The April PF topic area is Greater Middle East. You can submit suggested changes to the starter resolutions below or to submit a new resolution under this topic area.

Starter Resolution #1 – The United States should withdraw from the Afghanistan peace process.
Starter Resolution #2 – The United States should decrease its military presence in the Persian Gulf region to prevent Iranian aggression.
