SEEDS program completes second successful cohort

The second cohort of the Summer Education and Engagement for Data Science (SEEDS) concluded with project presentations conducted by six South Bend-area high school students, and three undergraduate student mentors.
The SEEDS program features a mentorship structure in which area high school students are paired with undergraduate students from Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College, who work closely with faculty to develop projects that can be tackled by learning and applying data science techniques.

| Anne Beerhorst Beasley, Senior Administrative Coordinator
|
Anne Beerhorst Beasley, MS joins the Lucy Family Institute as the Senior Administrative Coordinator. Prior to Notre Dame, she worked as an account manager at Sterling Integrators. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Calvin University and a Masters in Nonprofit Management from DePaul University.

| Mary Mumbi Wachira, Program Director for the Health Equity Data Lab
|
Mary Mumbi Wachira, MS joins the Lucy Family Institute as the Program Director for the Health Equity Data Lab. She holds a Masters in Global Affairs degree from the University of Notre Dame, where she was the recipient of a Kroc Institute Fellowship.

As a member of the Applied Analytics & Emerging Technology Lab (AETL) within the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society), the Project Manager will be actively engaged with campus and industry partners through the LIFT Network for collaborative solutions to drive regional industry advancement within Information Technology, data analytics, and emerging technology fields. The Project Manager will manage several of the current and emerging projects, including software development, technology infrastructure, university research, and other data related projects.
