The Trustworthy AI Lab for Education (TALE) Online Symposium was held on June 12, 2024. A recording of the event is now available.
The symposium featured sessions exploring artificial intelligence in STEM education and built upon insights from the ND TALE Summit on December 1, 2023.

ND TALE brings together a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, computer scientists, learning scientists, and STEM education researchers across campus as well as external partners, to decipher how to build effective and trusted AI solutions for education.

Then welcome to the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, where data science, newest technologies, and the humanities converge to rewrite the narrative of societal challenges. Play a key role in crafting compelling narratives, including op-eds that popularize data-driven and AI research, making complex ideas accessible and engaging for the public.
Responsibilities will include developing the external engagement strategy for the Institute’s body of work, and framing engagement and impact stories for different audience segments and stakeholders.

| Civic Data Literacy for Libraries: A Civic Switchboard Institute project

Join Matthew Sisk, associate professor of the practice in the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, and Katherine Walden, associate teaching professor in the Department of American Studies for the Civic Data Literacy for Libraries: A Civic Switchboard Institute project.
This project, hosted by regional partners, is for library workers who are interested in serving as intermediaries between community members and civic data and developing civic data roles for their libraries.
Attendees will discover critical dimensions of data work, including power, social justice, and responsible data practices to mitigate harms, and will help to improve civic data educational materials for a library audience.
