WINTER QUARTER 2023
Week 4: Six more weeks edition.
Season’s greetings, WWL-sters!
According to an oversized rat in Pennsylvania, we’ve got three fortnights remaining until the end of Winter Quarter… here's What We’ve Learned since the last time we chatted.
Enjoy, be safe, and stay kind to one another. - Ian
The low-down on mask-up options.
Although face coverings are now optional in class, labs, and on Triton transportation, it’s important to remember that relaxed requirements shouldn't supplant common sense.
Opt-in to “caring for one another.” Here’s the thing: masks work two ways – meaning that they don’t solely protect their wearer. Immuno-compromised folks – as well as anyone who doesn’t LOVE being sick – will also benefit when we do our part for the good of the whole, so please, throw one on when you’re feeling unwell.
Come on, feel the nose. And while you’re at it, pick up a free rapid or PCR test to make sure that those seasonal sniffles and sore throat aren’t COVID-related party favors.

Want a recipe for overall well-being? Peruse the latest offerings from our CAPS x Outback Adventures collab – curated experiences that combine recreational activities with mental health reflections in order to foster personal growth while improving well-being.
Walkie and talkie. Starting next week, each of these no-cost outdoor adventures (climbing, hiking, etc.) will be peppered with discussions about how the activities reinforce elements of positive psychology – like teamwork, grit, and self-compassion. Get into it, and get something out of it!
Quick Hits and Bits
Y’all together now.Togetherall is a safe, anonymous – and free! – online community where Tritons can share feelings anonymously and get peer-to-peer support to improve mental health and well-being.
Spring Break, you off. For the third year running, we’re planning a week’s worth of fun, engaging, and educational opportunities on campus during the March 27-31 break. Let us know what type of offerings you’re interested in by emailing vcsa@ucsd.edu, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
