Multiple changes impacting compensation are taking effect this month.

FLSA threshold - Effective July 1, the U.S. Department of Labor has increased the minimum annual salary threshold required for exempt status from $35,568 to $43,888 under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Those with this status are exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements. This threshold determines eligibility for overtime pay under federal wage law.
-
Market structure adjustment - As part of the UT System's ongoing maintenance of its market-based structure, all market ranges will be increased by 2%, effective July 1.
- Job family market changes - To ensure job families are in line with market standards, the UT System continuously assesses its job family roles. Effective August 2024, market range adjustments will be implemented to specific job family roles.
