Wheat Ridge Creates Meet Ups

We meet monthly on the third Saturday of the month from 10-11:30am and continue to connect with creatives in our community and beyond.

March Meet Up

For March 16, we'll be meeting at Singularity Tattoo from 10-11:30am.  Join us to connect with other creatives, discuss living as artists, share creative opportunities and celebrate wins.  Singularity Tattoo will provide coffee from Stylus and Crate.  If you'd like to bring a snack to share feel free to but it is not required.

Our February Meetup was a chock full of exciting opportunities to be a part of the creative community thriving in Wheat Ridge.  Singularity Tattoo launched their new gallery space with a diverse photo show the first Friday of February.  Several art spaces along 38th Avenue will be participating in first Fridays including Artcentric and Beehive Studios.  Come out and support local art!
The ArtSpot Co-op is becoming a 501(c)(3) and we can’t wait to see the goodness they create with this new classification. They’ll be hosting two shows in 2024 (details can be found in the ArtSpot Co-op section of this newsletter).
In collaboration with the Cultural Commission, we’ll be building a float for the Carnation Festival--more details to come! The Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission's grant application deadline for awards for the second half of the year is May 2. Be on the lookout for more information on ways to utilize these funds to uplift creativity in our community.  We look forward to seeing you on March 16.
BIG THANK YOU to everyone for your time, energy and enthusiasm. We LOVE building this creative community with you!  See you Soon!!
Localworks Grand Opening Event

Clear Creek Makerspace Grand Opening!

We're thrilled to announce the grand opening of Clear Creek Makerspace! This is your personal invite to join us for an unforgettable day of discovery, fun, and inspiration on Saturday, March 30 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Clear Creek Makerspace (9110 W. 44th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033).

Excitingly, CCM is slated to become one of Metro Denver’s premier creative hubs, offering over 7,500 sq. ft. of workshop space equipped with all the tools and tech you need to bring your ideas to life. Whether for personal passion projects or your small business, we can't wait to see what you'll create.

Our celebration kicks off at 11:30 AM with a lively ribbon-cutting ceremony and a special welcome from Localworks. After the ceremony, we invite you to explore the makerspace, where you'll be able to mix, meet, and marvel at the endless possibilities that CCM is so excited to offer. Dive into hands-on demos featuring the latest in 3D printing, laser cutting, crafting, woodworking, metalworking, and so much more. Take home fun DIY projects, engage with experts, and enjoy surprise giveaways that capture CCM's spirit of creativity and community.

During the open house, you'll also be able enjoy tasty brunch treats, snacks, and a variety of drinks, including a cash bar to support a fantastic cause. Our goal is to raise $1,000 for two full 1-year membership scholarships. If you've got a minute to RSVP, click here to let us know you're coming!

✨Our little Co-Op is glowing up! ✨

Last month on #ThirdThursday we approved funds to register with the State and legitimize ourselves as a legal entity, growing from our humble roots as a community of local artists looking to find and work alongside others that share our vision. We then collaboratively drafted our 2024 vision statement for Art Spot, which reads:

“Art Spot is a Visual Arts Cooperative (Co-Op) in Wheat Ridge, where members build an inclusive, professional, and cultural environment serving local artists and patrons. We uplift our community through creativity, fellowship, and shared enrichment opportunities.”
Upcoming Art Spot events - stay tuned!
  • Month of June: Open-call community show at Artcentric
  • June 29: Pop-up at Ridgefest Art Market

Art Spot is still accepting invitations from local venues for 2024 pop-up art exhibition opportunities! Please email us at info@artspotco-op.com or send us a DM on Instagram if you are interested in giving your space a zhuzh by hosting some amazing local artists.

You're Invited! Art Spot Co-Op meets every #ThirdThursdays at the Wheat Ridge Center for Music + Arts

Join us from 5-7pm on the Third Thursday of each month for our cooperative meeting and our new #ArtHype activity. Monthly meetups are open to all creators in our community; bring in a work in progress or any example of your work to share with other artists who will then respond with what they LOVE about the piece, process, or direction the artist is taking.

If you are interested in joining an artist's cooperative in Wheat Ridge, please scan the QR code in the graphic or use this link to register for our mailing list. We email updates and meeting reminders every third Tuesday ahead of our meetings, so this is the best way to stay informed of developments within the co-op. You can unsubscribe from this list at any time.
If you have any questions or comments, or would like to get involved, please reach out to us on Instagram @artspotco_op or email us at info@artspotco-op.com. You can also drop by the Wheat Ridge Center for Music and Arts at 7530 W. 38th Ave any #ThirdThursday to meet our members and see what we have going on. We look forward to creating with you!
