Winter Start students took advantage of a late-night opportunity during Winter Start Orientation to embrace their artistic side at the Bemis School of Art. With a wide variety of activities including oil painting, water colors, sculpting, and pottery throwing, everyone has a chance to try something different, introduce themselves to their fellow students, and get a head start on making CC memories. More Women of Color in Leadership, But: 'We Should Speak Frankly About the Barriers That Still Exist'
The leadership at Colorado College has changed dramatically throughout the years, and now, in the 2021-22 academic year, the college has never had as many female-identifying, Black, Indigenous, People of Color voices as it currently does. As the CC community takes a moment to acknowledge how far it’s come, the BIPOC women in leadership roles know that there’s still a long way to go. Read the full story here.

CC in the Spotlight Events

Want to learn more about CC and get to know others in the CC parent and family community? Join CC's Alumni and Family Relations Office for our virtual "CC in the Spotlight" events! We will begin each virtual gathering with a guest speaker who will share about their work and area of expertise at CC, introducing you to programs and resources available to your students. These informal presentations are designed specifically for the parents, families, and supporters of current CC students; they are interactive and will include time for Q&A, conversation, and connection. Commencement 2022

Excitement is growing as we make plans to celebrate CC's Class of 2022 this spring! The Commencement ceremony will take place on May 22, 2022, inside the Ed Robson Arena. Each graduate will be allowed up to seven guest tickets. Graduates and their families will be notified when tickets are available, and you can find updated information on all the weekend's celebrations as it is available on the Commencement web page.
Please remind your graduating student to submit their application to graduate by the April 20 deadline. Students who are eligible will find the link to the application on their student menu in Banner SSB. It takes them only a few minutes to complete this application which allows them to opt-in to the ceremony (plus provide their height information for a gown), and confirm their diploma name and mailing address should they end up not attending the ceremony. We look forward to seeing many of you on campus in May!

Updates from Campus

Important information and reminders from offices across campus.

Spring Semester balances are due in full on or before Feb. 4, 2022, OR enroll in our payment plan option (via online billing site) by Feb. 3, 2022 (with your first installment due Feb. 4, 2022).

All 1098-T (tuition statement) tax forms are now available via our online billing site. Paper copies will also be mailed to permanent mailing addresses in each student's name.

The Spring Semester means it’s time to be deep in the internship search. The Public Interest Fellowship Program (PIFP) offers summer and yearlong fellowships for CC students to explore how they can make an impact on Colorado communities and develop as the next generation of nonprofit leaders. Students can find the PIFP fellowship descriptions in Handshake and learn more through upcoming information sessions. Deadline to apply is Feb. 21, 2022.

CC students are also eligible to receive Summer Internship Funding once during their four years at CC. Many internships remain unpaid or underpaid, and this supplemental funding makes it possible for students to choose opportunities based on the value the experience brings to the pursuit of their goals with less worry about the financial viability of the internship. The funding application will open in Summit on Feb. 14, 2022—students do not need a secured internship before applying.

If your student is still exploring their professional interests, we have a class that can help!  During the Designing Your Life: Exploring the Academic and Professional Journey through the Lens of Design Thinking course, students will identify and evaluate how their values, interests, and skills connect to their academic and professional journeys. Using the tenets of design thinking, students will explore connections between their personal and professional development and leave confident in their ability to make career-related decisions. Students can register for GS222: Special Topics in Banner. The course will be offered Blocks 6-7 on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m.

Colorado College has reinstated a three-year on-campus residential requirement for the 2022-23 academic year. More information about this requirement, the housing process, and resources for all students living on and off campus will be shared with our student and parent community soon. Stay tuned to email and the Housing website for more!

Brenda Soto P’19, director of events at Colorado College, has been named interim director of alumni and family relations. Soto will split her time between the two positions and will focus on working with the Alumni Association Council and overseeing parent and family communications.
