Welcome, Amanda!
We'd like to welcome Amanda Roberts, our new therapist intern! She was born and raised a Florida Gator, though she has fallen in love with California life. In 2012, she graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and in 2017 from the University of Southern California with a Master of Social Work. About a year and a half ago, she moved to Monterey, CA and soon after became an advocate with MCRCC.
Amanda says, "I am thrilled to join the clinical team to continue serving our amazing clients in a new role as one of the MCRCC therapists, and I look forward to the journey that awaits!"
Amanda will serve clients at both our Monterey and Salinas offices.
We are making a difference.
How is MCRCC impacting lives?
As a survivor-centered agency, we walk with our clients on their various paths to healing from trauma. Here is what one of our clients shared about their experience with MCRCC:

"The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center has equipped me with the proper tools to conquer each day to the best of my abilities. It allowed me to discover and explore a completely new side of myself. I have learned to be more compassionate with myself, how to listen to my needs and how to cope in healthy ways. Although my trauma wasn’t my fault, I have learned that I am responsible for my healing."

We thank this individual for sharing their powerful words, and we are honored to have been a part of their healing process.
A fond farewell
It's time to say goodbye to two retiring Board members. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Dionne Ybarra and Karen Kamachi for dedicating their service to MCRCC!
We are pleased to announce that MCRCC has recently been awarded a generous grant from the Yellow Brick Road in Carmel to support our work. To help continue their philanthropy, they need more volunteers. Please call (831) 626-8480 or visit yellowbrickroadbenefitshop.org.
The Carmel Valley Women's Club also recently made a generous donation to MCRCC. We are so thankful for their continued support.
These gifts will help sustain our volunteer Advocate recruitment, training and development!
As always, thank you for supporting MCRCC!
