As assistant director of Security Services at Puget Sound, Greg Lynch splits his time between hiring, training, and managing safety officers and out on patrol, interacting with the campus community. Lynch came to Puget Sound in 2017 after a long career in retail and a stint working at the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island. He’s quick to point out that Security Services isn’t just about rule enforcement—campus safety officers are available 24/7 to help students, faculty, and staff, whether that’s assisting Loggers locked out of their residence halls, responding to 2 a.m. plumbing mishaps, providing safety escorts, or more. When he isn’t on campus, the Tacoma native often can be found cheering on his daughters at their weekly soccer games.
