Dear Colleagues and Students:
We write to inform you of some important changes coming to the Ball State Health Center. Effective August 1, 2022, the pharmacy services now offered at the Ball State Health Center Pharmacy will be transferred to the IU Health Pavilion Community Pharmacy (Pavilion Pharmacy) at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, and the Employee Quick Clinic will close permanently.
The change in pharmacy service provides students and employees with access to more comprehensive pharmacy services including longer and more convenient hours. The Pavilion Pharmacy is located in the lobby of IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital adjacent to campus. Students can use the campus Blue Shuttle loop to get to the IU Health Pavilion Community Pharmacy from campus.
The use of the Employee Quick Clinic (QC) has declined significantly as the need for those services for employees has changed. The increase in convenient urgent care provider options in Muncie and changes in health insurance coverage for service at the QC have contributed to this decline. Closing the QC allows IU Health and the University to deploy resources used for the QC to support other priorities, including health and wellness initiatives to benefit students and employees.
Patients with prescriptions at the Ball State Health Center Pharmacy will be notified of the transition to services to Pavilion Pharmacy. Both pharmacies are operated by IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. For more detailed answers to questions about these changes, we have provided a FAQ on the Student Health Center webpage
We appreciate your cooperation with these changes as we identify how to serve the healthcare needs of students and ensure employees have access to quality healthcare.
